Monster's have always bad made out to be the bad characters in stories and legends. They add conflict and fear which makes you relate to the story more because we always fear things.

Response to Beowulf Prologue

In this prologue you don't get much information as to where this is taking place. The only place it talks about is Denmark. Maybe Denmark is the place Beowulf will take over, who knows.  Beowulf must have been a great prince. In this prologue they are talking about the great prince and the king who he comes from. The characters I'm guessing are Shild who is the father of Beowulf. The prologue makes it seem like Shild isn't a very good king. He make slaves out of all the soldiers. It seems to be that Beowulf was the best thing to happen to Denmark.

"How to Mark a Book" Summary

I enjoyed reading this article because it really made me think about how I read books and how if I followed the steps I could possibly be a better writer or reader. This article is talking about how you should mark all over your book with notes, but make sure it is your copy and not someone else's. A book is like your diary, with all the notes written throughout it, it becomes personal to you. You don't want to let anyone borrow your book, make them go get a copy of there own. Books have beauty and meaning to them, but only if you really read it and dig deep down into it. I would apply these steps as reader by going through the steps the article suggested. You should highlight, make notes in the margins, put stars and other symbols by important passages. It's helpful because if you are going to write a paper about it then you can always go back and look at your notes.

Senior Year

I chose The journey because this blog is going to be all about my journey throughout my senior year. It'll be cool to look back and see all that I have posted this year. I chose the layout because purple is one of my favorite colors and its pretty simple because thats how I am. I'm so excited for my senior year and I am so ready to make so many memories with my class.
