Polonius tone with Laertes and Ophelia is completely different. In the scene we watched during class Polonius was very calm and encouraging to Laertes. When he left Polonius started yelling at Ophelia about Hamlet and telling her to stay away from him. It seemed that he is very protective over Ophelia. Polonius and Laertes are on the same page about Hamlet. They both do not want Ophelia around him. They demand her to stay away from him and ignore his flirting with her.
